Marble & Travertine for the Bathrooms & Benchtops
Published February 4th, 2008 in Renovation RescueWe are advanced enough now to consider what is going onto the walls in the bathrooms and laundries. When Harry Sprintz our architect did the specification he specified Ceaserstone for all of the benchtops and vanities. Ceaserstone is a composite stone product that has a good reputation for wear & tear. I wanted to get a competitive quote on using a completely natural stone product as we are trying to keep the project as environmentally conscious as possible.
I used eBay as my first point of search as usual and came upon a company called “Marble & Ceramic Corp“. They had an eBay store called strangely enough Marble & Ceramic Corp. I had a look at their eBay Store and concluded that it was worthwhile making contact. I arranged to visit their showroom and warehouse today.
I met up with Emir, the owner of Marble & Ceramic Corp, and Lisa their Design Consultant.
Emir explained that the family owned marble and travertine quarries and factories in Iran. Lisa confirmed that Marble & Ceramic Corp did both tiles and bench-tops in marble, travertine and granite as well as stocked a significant range of ceramic tiles. Together we selected a range of travertine and ceramic tiles for the bathrooms and laundries.
We selected a white ceramic tile for the laundries, travertine porcelain tile for all of the bathrooms apart from the main upstairs, bianca perla limestone for the main bathroom and Pietra grey for the kitchen benches and bianca perla for the vanities.

This combination of material will look stunning once it is put into place.
Hopefully when you deal with the principal rather than through a string of middle men we will end up with a better economic equation. I am waiting on a quote from Marble and Ceramic Corp on the bench-tops material. I will now need to find a company that can cut the product to size closer to the job in Merimbula.
You can always tell a principal importer.. They have stacks of stuff in crates and containers in the driveway. Here is a photo of thier warehouse and a small part of their range.
Hopefully Marble & Ceramic Corp will become one of our valued partners and our bathrooms will look like this.
